Galant Challenge Program

Since 2012, the Galant Challenge Program has deployed more than $37 million in seed and early-stage capital to emerging ventures. The year-round program provides opportunities for UVA students to learn about due diligence, startup leaders and founders affiliated with UVA to pitch for funding, and alumni investors to join a growing network of VC funders.

Founders Forum

The Founders Forum, hosted by the Galant Center, is the ultimate gathering for aspiring entrepreneurs and industry leaders. The daylong event brings together UVA students and community members for inspiring conversations, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities that explore how today’s innovators are building authentic relationships in an increasingly tech-driven landscape.

Career Development

The Galant Center connects aspiring entrepreneurs across UVA with programs, resources, and opportunities that turn ideas into action.

  • Competitions and funding opportunities across UVA support new ventures, including the UVA Entrepreneurship Cup (“the E-Cup”), which awards upwards of $25,000 to winning undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral teams

Student Engagement

The Galant Center creates opportunities to build relationships, exchange ideas, and engage with UVA’s entrepreneurial community.

  • Innovation Fellows is a cohort-based mentoring program for creative, artistic, and rebellious undergraduate students from across the University who are ready to use business to change the world.
  • Happy hours, networking speed mixers, and other community-building events create informal opportunities to make connections across the new venture community.
  • Peaks & Professors is a student-run organization that brings together top UVA faculty and administrators and students by organizing outdoor adventures in Central and Southwest Virginia, with activities ranging from day hikes to multi-day camping and rafting trips.
