Meet the Dean
On July 1, 2020, the Commerce community welcomed Nicole Thorne Jenkins as the newest John A. Griffin Dean. As McIntire celebrates 100 years in business education in 2021, Dean Jenkins will lead the School into its next century.
As we celebrate 100 years of innovative business education, we remain committed to inspiring ethical leadership, creating fearless pathfinders, and graduating dynamic, responsible visionaries who help define and enhance the global marketplace.
Home to Thomas Jefferson's Academical Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, McIntire is situated near the University's picturesque Lawn and iconic Rotunda. Just a short walk from Grounds, Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall offers many cultural and culinary attractions.
The Commerce School offers classes in two unique spaces in Northern Virginia. One section of M.S. in MIT students meets at Valo Park in Tysons Corner, in the heart of Northern Virginia's technology corridor while M.S. in Business Analytics attend classes at UVA’s new facilities in the downtown Arlington, VA, district of Rosslyn.
With a tight-knit, cohesive community defined by an inclusive yet extensive global network, McIntire maintains an engaged presence around the world. Our partner organizations and universities, committed alumni, and supportive corporate partners play an active role in the Commerce School experience.

McIntire's longstanding tradition of innovation is made possible by the extraordinary vision and dedication of the School's academic and administrative leadership.
Additionally, the alumni volunteers who lead the various McIntire boards play a crucial role in connecting the School's global community with business and the public.
Widely renowned for our longstanding undergraduate degree; five highly ranked graduate degrees; pan-University minors in Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Real Estate; and a diverse set of certificates, the Commerce School has designed all of our programs with inventive, engaging curricula that provide marketable skills and incorporate real-world business experiences of unparalleled quality.
The McIntire School of Commerce is home to seven active centers that serve as the School’s nexus of collaboration. Fostering knowledge, exploration, and facilitating interdisciplinary learning opportunities for students, industry, and academia, expertise delves into analytics, financial markets, IT, global commerce, entrepreneurship, real estate, and professional services.
Established in 1978, the Foundation is the fundraising and financial nexus of private support for the School. The foundation fortifies curricular enhancements, buoys scholarships, offers support for relevant faculty research, and enables critical technological enhancements.
We are accredited by the AACSB at the graduate and undergraduate levels in business and accounting and are a CFA Institute university program partner.
