The University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce Foundation promotes the McIntire School of Commerce and its goals through fundraising efforts, endowment management, and research support.
The Foundation is the fundraising and financial nexus of private support for the McIntire School and is currently heading up Building Our Next Century, the campaign for the McIntire School of Commerce, encouraging and securing private financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporations. In addition, through alumni engagement, the Foundation encourages connections to the McIntire School through professional development programs, networking, social events, and opportunities to serve as mentors.
About Us
Formed in 1975 to further the aims and purposes of the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce, the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that is independent and separately incorporated from the University of Virginia and is recognized by UVA as a University-Associated Organization.
The Foundation accomplishes its mission by performing the following program services and supporting activities:
Direct Support of the McIntire School of Commerce: Direct cash payments, as well as payments made on behalf of the McIntire School, provide general support for the mission of the School, including departmental support, faculty research, and administration. The Foundation also transfers funds to UVA for facilities improvements, including construction and renovation costs.
Scholarships and Awards: Scholarships and awards support deserving undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of ways, from merit- and need-based scholarships to global travel and more.
Research Centers and Other Programs: The seven Centers of Excellence fortify the School’s curriculum; support students and faculty; offer innovative, ambitious, cutting-edge research projects; support forums and ongoing lecture series; and boost the School’s ability to nurture students into creative, intuitive, and responsible business professionals. Each Center has its own distinct goals and focus:

Trustees and Officers
The Foundation’s Board of Trustees (Board) consists of McIntire School alumni, faculty, staff, and friends representing a wide range of industries, and are valuable advisers who consistently facilitate the activities and programs of the School.
