About me:
Hey there, everyone! I’m Tommy Qu, a third-year student at McIntire concentrating in Finance. I’m also double-majoring in Mathematics, and I'm minoring in Computer Science. Home for me is NOVA, and I graduated from Flint Hill in Oakton, VA.
At the University, you can catch me as a Research Assistant in the Computer Science and Data Science departments. On the club front, I'm actively involved in Connoisseurs of Code, Smallcap Asset Management Group, and the Korean Student Union. Outside of the academic world, you'll find me watching Korean films, whipping up dishes in the kitchen, hitting the gym at AFC, and enjoying an outdoor run around the Corner.
I’m still in my first semester at McIntire, but I can already confidently say that it is a transformative experience. From the discussion-oriented classes to the smaller class size, each block really does feel like a community where everybody’s input is valued. Also, by collaborating with my teammates in ICE, I genuinely believe I have grown as an individual. Not only did I enjoy getting to know each one of my groupmates, but I also gained insights into team dynamics and how to work smarter.
If any of this resonates with you, or if you just want to connect, I'm all ears! Feel free to reach out, and I'd be thrilled to chat. I can't wait to share my awesome McIntire experiences with you and tell you why it's such a fantastic place to be. See you around!
Fun fact: I’m an avid watcher of Korean films, and I’ve competed in many video game tournaments. I also play the violin!
