Hi! I'm Tanish Gupta, a third-year from Hagerstown, MD. I'm studying Commerce, concentrating in Management and IT, and pursuing a minor in Government. I've had the wonderful opportunity to get involved with some amazing groups across Grounds during my time here.

I just finished my term as Vice President for the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society, where I was able to invite some amazing speakers to UVA, including Salam Fayyad, the former Prime Minister of Palestine. I'm also the Director of Logistics for the Virginia Case Club, where I've been able to participate (and do pretty well!) in a couple of case competitions. I'm also involved in Center for Politics programs and am a 22nd Century Scholar through them.

My favorite part of the McIntire experience is the people. Although ICE is challenging, I've learned a lot through the amazing professors and have made many great memories in my block and team. Block 2's valiant run to second place in the kickball tournament has been one of my favorite memories. Just being inside Rouss & Robertson Halls has also been such a fun experience -– I’m always running into friends and making new ones.

I'm excited to study abroad next semester, when I'm going to Hong Kong. During my free time, I like hanging out with my friends, watching soccer (go Spurs!), playing tennis, and watching "Parks and Rec." I've loved my time in McIntire and can't wait for the rest of the year!

Fun fact: I have a twin brother!
