Hi, I’m Mahitha Anumola! I’m from Northern Virginia, and more specifically, I grew up in Herndon. I’m pursuing a concentration in Finance at McIntire and plan to pursue a career in investment banking after graduation.

At McIntire, I’m the Head Teaching Assistant for COMM 1800: Foundations of Commerce, where I manage a team of TAs and help first-year students build their footing in business fundamentals. It is one of my favorite roles on Grounds because I get to mentor students while supporting professors behind the scenes. I’m also involved in Smart Woman Securities, where I have found a great community of women passionate about finance. Outside of McIntire, I serve as the Campus Manager for Fresh Prints, handling custom apparel orders for student organizations, Greek life, and UVA departments. It has taught me a lot about balancing client needs, logistics, and creativity.

Outside the classroom, I moonlight as a bingo caller once a month, mic in hand, shouting out numbers to a crowd of 300 students. It is chaotic, loud, and surprisingly one of the highlights of my UVA experience. I also love board games and card games, whether it is a long strategy game that lasts hours or a quick round of cards with friends.

What I have loved most about McIntire is the people. It is rare to find a place where classmates can challenge you with sharp ideas one moment and make you laugh the next. It is a community that has pushed me to grow while always making me feel at home.

Fun fact: I once fished a piranha out of the Amazon River.
