Hometown: Leesburg, VA Concentration: Finance and Management
Hello everyone! My name is Chloe Barbosa, and I am currently a third-year studying Commerce, concentrating in Finance and Management. I’m from Northern Virginia, meaning that I have been in Virginia all my life, and I was extremely excited to see the path I would take at UVA! Over the past three years, I’ve joined various organizations that have made my experience at UVA all the more rewarding. During my first year at UVA, I joined Black Student Alliance, Black College Women, Latin Student Network at McIntire, and Alpha Kappa Si. Each of these organizations has given me opportunities to express my interest and curiosity within business or celebrate my cultural background.
If you don’t see me at McIntire, you will probably find me walking around Grounds talking with my friends, trying new places to eat, or drinking an iced caramel latte near the Corner. Outside of UVA, I really enjoy traveling the world with my family and friends. My family and I particularly love visiting the beach while on vacation. Our most visited beach is the Outer Banks, which we’ve been going to every year since 2016!
My McIntire experience has been amazing so far, especially when meeting my block and group members, who have all been super warm and welcoming. In addition, I really enjoy all the opportunities McIntire has given us to network with different firms, bond and interact with our faculty members, and attend various events that focus on Diversity Equity, and Inclusion within McIntire. Fun fact: I started playing volleyball and the cello during the same year, and I played both for seven years!
