Stephanie Connaughton
Founding Owner, Boston Legacy Football Club
At age 3, Stephanie Connaughton announced to her dad that she wanted to grow up to be Speedy Duncan, the electrifying punt returner for Washington’s NFL team. He was, quite simply, the fastest human she had ever seen.
A career in American football would elude her, but professional football eventually found its way back into Stephanie’s life. Following a career in innovation, brand building and marketing, she became a founding owner of Boston Legacy Football Club, co-leading the expansion effort that brought an NWSL team back to Boston. The club began play in March 2026.
Earlier in her career, Stephanie helped pioneer some of Gillette’s major innovations, including the original Venus razor, and helped build and shape seven brands. Most notably, she helped transform Gillette’s newly created female shaving business—an experience that taught her the power of giving an overlooked business dedicated leadership, resources and a mandate to grow.
Today, Stephanie serves on the Board of Boston Legacy FC and is a social impact investor focused on organizations addressing gender-based violence. She has longstanding ties to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston, the ICA Boston and Harvard University.
Stephanie is also an inventor with four utility patents, a former collegiate lacrosse player, an avid Patriots fan, and the mother of twins. Her family is also part of the investor groups of the Boston Celtics and Baltimore Orioles.
