Professor Gallmeyer specializes in studying how market imperfections influence security prices and trade. His current research focuses on heterogeneous beliefs, taxation, trading constraints, monetary policy, and asset management intermediation.
Before joining the McIntire faculty, Professor Gallmeyer was on the faculty at the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University and the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University. He has published in leading academic journals such as Journal of Financial Economics; Journal of Monetary Economics; Review of Finance; Mathematical Finance; and Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control. He has also presented his research at numerous universities and academic conferences. Professor Gallmeyer holds courtesy appointments in the Department of Economics at the University of Virginia and in the Department of Finance at the University of Melbourne.
