Hi! I’m Maya Dias, a fourth-year Jefferson Scholar student from Westfield, NJ. I’m pursuing a Finance concentration at McIntire, along with double minors in Religious Studies and Data Science. 

At UVA, I served as Vice President of Operations for 180 Degrees Consulting, a nonprofit consulting club, and I’m an analyst for the Alternative Investment Fund (AIF). I’m also active in the Charlottesville community as an Intern to the Executive Director of the Fountain Fund, a nonprofit that provides low-interest loans to formerly incarcerated individuals. Beyond that, I am a member of Fourth-Year Trustees, serve on the Student Council Appropriations Committee, volunteer at Madison House, and participate in Greek Life.

In my free time, I enjoy running and photography (I recently started an Instagram account for photography!), and I’ve begun painting this semester.

My favorite part of McIntire is how approachable and supportive the professors are. I’ve built strong relationships with faculty whose classes I haven’t even taken yet. I’m excited to continue connecting with professors and sharing my McIntire experience as an ambassador! 

Fun fact: I can understand four languages: English, Hindi, Konkani, and Spanish.
