Hi! I’m Maya Dias, a third-year Jefferson Scholar from Westfield, NJ. I’m pursuing a Finance concentration at McIntire, along with a double major in Economics and a minor in Data Science.

At UVA, I serve as Vice President of Operations for 180 Degrees Consulting, a nonprofit consulting club, and I’m an analyst for the Alternative Investment Fund (AIF). I’m also active in the Charlottesville community as an Intern to the Executive Director of the Fountain Fund, a nonprofit that provides low-interest loans to formerly incarcerated individuals. Beyond that, I create videos for WUVA, volunteer at The Haven through Madison House, serve on the Student Council Appropriations Committee, and participate in Greek Life.

In my free time, I enjoy running and photography (I recently started an Instagram account for photography!), and I’ve begun learning how to play the guitar this semester.

My favorite part of McIntire is how approachable and supportive the professors are. I’ve built strong relationships with faculty whose classes I haven’t even taken yet. I’m excited to continue connecting with professors and sharing my McIntire experience as an ambassador!

Fun fact: I can understand four languages: English, Hindi, Konkani, and Spanish.
